Cloud and Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365 that is secured, backed up and right sized.

Almost every company we meet is already paying for more Microsoft than it uses, and using less of it than it could.

We clean up the licensing, lock down the tenant, back it up properly and teach your team the parts that actually save them time.

Licensing Securing the tenant Backup Moving to the cloud Questions

The licensing audit nobody has run

Microsoft licensing changes constantly, and most companies stack subscriptions over the years without ever going back through them. We find licenses assigned to people who left, two products doing the same job, and teams on a plan that is missing the one feature they keep asking for.

We go through every seat with you. Some clients save money. Others spend the same and get security features they were already entitled to and never turned on. Either way you find out what you are paying for.

A tenant out of the box is not secure

Microsoft 365 ships open enough to be easy, which means the defaults are not what you want. This is the work we do on every tenant we take over.

  • Multi factor for every account, with conditional access rules instead of blanket prompts that people learn to click through
  • Legacy authentication switched off, because it is the standard way around multi factor
  • Administrator accounts separated from daily use accounts
  • Anti phishing and spoofing protection for your own domain, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC set correctly
  • Mailbox auditing and alerting on forwarding rules, the classic sign of a compromised account
  • Sharing rules for SharePoint and OneDrive so files do not quietly become public links
  • Device policy for phones and laptops, so company mail is not sitting unprotected on a personal device

Microsoft is not your backup

This is the one that surprises people. Microsoft keeps the service running. Your data is your responsibility. Deleted items age out, a compromised account can destroy mail and files, and retention policies are not a restore point. We add third party backup for Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams, with restores we test rather than assume.

Moving to the cloud, or partly staying

Cloud is not automatically cheaper or better. A file server on site still makes sense for some shops, and a line of business application may not be ready to move. We are happy to tell you when the answer is stay put.

Inventory what you run

Applications, data, licensing and where the bottlenecks actually are. Usually it is the internet connection, not the server.

Decide per workload

Some things move, some stay, some get replaced. You get the reasoning and the cost in writing before anything changes.

Migrate in stages

Mail, then files, then applications, with a rollback plan at every step. Cut overs happen on a weekend, not on a Tuesday morning.

Train and support

Teams, SharePoint and the collaboration features only pay off if people use them. We run short sessions with your staff and stay available afterward.

Questions we get every week

Can you take over our existing tenant?

Yes. That is the normal case. We get delegated access, run a security and licensing review, and give you a findings report before we change anything.

Will we lose email during a migration?

No. Mail keeps flowing during a properly staged migration. The old mailbox stays available until the new one is verified.

Do we really need to pay for backup on top of Microsoft?

We think so, and so does every insurance carrier we deal with. It is a small line item against the cost of losing years of mail and documents.

What about Teams phones?

We do them, and for a lot of companies it replaces an aging phone system for less money. Ask us and we will price it against what you pay now.

Does this help with compliance?
